WHAT SHE WANTS will hold a workshop on newspaper production, Wednesday, September 10, 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Topics will include fundamentals of type and layout as well as a discussion of use of production tools and equipment. Through the Looking Glass is a collective of 15 women who do jail and prison support work. Want to try your hands at sign language but not sure if it's really for you? Then come and join us in a relaxed atmosphere for an Introduction to Sign Language class. This 8-week class will cover the importance of body language and facial expression, mime and basic signs. The class, taught by Dianne Fishman, will meet at the Gay Community Center, 10121⁄2 Sumner Court (next door to New Dimensions and Sumner Trucking). Sunday evenings from 7-9 p.m., starting August 3. There will be no class on Sunday, August 17. Please call the Gay Hotline (621-3380) to sign up and bring the $5 registration fee to the first class meeting. This course will be a good review for anyone who has taken a sign class in the last year, but has not been able to keep up its use. It is true, if you don't use il, you lose it! A future activity involving some members of the Buckeye Rainbow Society of the Deaf (BRSD) is planned. All are welcome.

The National Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NCASA) will hold its second annual conference Thursday, July 31, through Sunday, August 3, 1980, at the University of Texas in Austin. This year's conference will include 3 keynote speakers. 36 workshops in 5 categories, numerous discussion groups, special entertainment and opportunities to share experiences and information. The D.C. Rape Crisis Center is sponsoring a National Conference on Third World Women and Violence. to be held August 21-24, 1980, in Washington, D.C. Objectives are 1) to provide a forum for critical discussion and analysis of the direction and relationship of the anti-violenceagainst-women movement and the liberation struggles of people of color; 2) to provide training in skills necessary to service women of color who are victims of violence; and 3) to provide an opportunity to develop community strategies and share information necessary effectively to address issues of violence against Third World women. A handbook on sexual harassment on the job has been published by the American Federation of State. County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). The book reviews court decisions and presents ways in which employees, with union support, can recognize and respond to sexual harassment on the job. WOMEN IN SOLAR ENERGY, a conference to recognize and educate women in solar technology, will be offered October 20-21 at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst. The program will include introductory and advanced sessions, panels, group discussions, and hands-on workshops. This event will take place in conjunction with the Fifth National Passive Solar Conference of the American Section of the International Solar Energy Society. An appeal has gone out from Lucille Provero, President of the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Foundation, for donations to save and preserve the Stanton home, which has been threatened by a housing development project. The foundation's goal is to raise the necessary funding to purchase the house from Ralph Peters, the Seattle man who bought it last year as an interim preservation move. Elizabeth Cady Stanton conceived the resolutions included in the First Women's Rights Convention 'Declaration of Sentiments" July 19. 1848.

Andrea Dworkin, author of "Woman Hating" and "Our Blood," who has been researching the connection between pornography and violence against women and will soon publish a book on the subject, will be at Coventry Books on Sunday. August 3 from 1:00 to 3.00 for a signing party.
